December downtime
Time to breathe

This is the perfect month to, as my darling says, “ratchet back a notch or two.” To cut myself some slack. Release the tension from the line. Slow my pace.
Less hustle and bustle. More breaks. Less doom scrolling. More feeding my mind, heart and spirit with the good stuff.
More hot baths. More hot tea. More cozy blankets, more warm socks.
To sit and notice the way the woods look, painted with new snow. To enjoy the way the dog snuggles up to me on the couch while we watch the Great British Baking Show.
To go to bed early, since the sun is gone by five p.m. To sleep in as often as possible.
Taking a moment to think about what really matters—people, not more stuff. And a moment of gratitude for the blessings of the past year.
December downtime is available. I just need to give myself permission to take it.
Join me, won’t you?
